I’m Riggie Freyer, a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Natural Healing Consultant based in Sir Lowry’s Pass near Cape Town and work across South Africa and internationally.

2.  Our Sessions Together

My goal in our sessions together is always to over deliver and to tailor my therapy and coaching plans to meet your individual needs.

In almost every case, I use a short therapy approach whereby results can often be seen in a few sessions. To achieve these results, I use a range of evidence based hypnotherapy techniques.

I'm constantly involved in advanced hypnotherapy techniques and training to ensure finding solutions to a range of issues.

Results can never be guaranteed with hypnotherapy, but I can guarantee my competence and experience to help you inspire positive change.

3.  How you Can Prepare for your Session

Before your first individual session, you’ll be sent a questionnaire so I can understand your circumstances and situation. It gives me an opportunity to get to know you and which issues you’re currently experiencing. I use this information to prepare our sessions together.

I'll also make sure to help you to prepare for our sessions together, by giving you the information you need and answering your questions.

I only have limited appointments available each week for individual hypnotherapy sessions, to ensure you quality time and attention.

4.  Putting into Practice What you've Learnt in our Session
After each session, I’ll give you tasks to do in order for you to consolidate the work we’ve done in our sessions together, such as practising what we did in our hypnotherapy session, and improving certain skills.

I use four different therapy approaches to help you achieve your desired outcomes, and my expertise lies in getting to know you and understanding which combination will get you the results in the shortest time possible.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic process which uses hypnosis to help treat specific mental and physical health conditions. It uses deep relaxation and focused attention to achieve a heightened state of consciousness or mindfulness. 

It also places the individual into altered state of awareness, in order for them to be more open to suggestions to make positive changes in their sensations, emotions, memories, perceptions, thoughts, and behaviors. Hypnosis is used in this process to reprogram thought patterns and the subconscious mind, to help one to effectively change one's behaviour and results.

Hypnotherapy is very effective in treating low self-confidence, phobias, anxiety, stress, post-traumatic stress disorders (PTSD), depression, dental and anaesthetic procedures. It also has a great track record for pain relief, helping to change bad habits, and relieving chronic illness. In addition, hypnotherapy has excellent results with weight loss, eating disorders,  insomnia, sleep disturbances, compulsions and additions..

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

This powerful hypnotherapy technique helps you to reconnect with your inner resources so that you can shift your focus from the problem to the solution. Solution-focused hypnotherapy is a collaborative process that combines psychotherapy and hypnosis to help people achieve positive change.

The entire focus is on what you want to achieve and to help you achieve your goal. It also aids you to laser focus upon your goal and take positive steps towards its achievement, instead of re-visiting past emotional problems. 

The solution-focused hypnotherapy sessions has two parts: the first part consists of psychotherapy, and the second part contains hypnotherapy which directly accesses your subconscious mind. 

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy  or CBT teaches you coping skills for dealing with different problems. It focuses on how your thoughts, beliefs and attitudes affect your feelings and actions. 

CBT looks at how we think about a situation and how that affects how we feel and act. In turn, our actions can affect how we think and feel. The therapist and client work together to change the client’s thinking patterns, behaviours or both.

If you can change a thought for example, you can then change a feeling and then an action. CBT helps us become aware of problematic or negative thinking or behaviour patterns. CBT is a collaborative therapy, meaning you work together with a skilled therapist to achieve a mutually agreed goal.

The ultimate aim of CBT is that people learn the skills to respond to their own problems in the future.

How CBT is Works in a Session 

CBT is focuses on how we think and act now, although it might happen that we would address issues in the past. You will set your goals for therapy session together with the me, after discussing the details of the problem.

In between the CBT sessions, I will give you tasks to complete in the real world, which we've planned together. During our sessions you would have learnt many CBT skills, which you could now apply throughout your life.
